Art has always been a passion of mine. Even from an early age growing up in Columbus, Ohio, I always gravitated toward art classes as a form of self and creative expression. Though my career landed me in the technology field, art remains a driving force in my life. Whether it’s a photo, nature, or an image I see while driving, I constantly seek to create. So brush to canvas, I do just that.
After 9-5 in the office, I still find the energy to come home and paint, creating pieces that bring happiness to those who engage in my work. And, while it’s extremely scary to open yourself and your artwork to criticism, I’ve grown to realize I’m not the only person who appreciates my talent. While there will be criticism, I’ve learned that it will only make my art better. After all doing something I love and am passionate about will only make life that much more enjoyable.

“I love colors and the way they react to each other. Before I paint on a white canvas, I pick and choose different colors from my rainbow collection of pigments, knowing that they are always linked to a passage of impression from an emotion, from nature, as well as from objects that retained enough of my attentions to explore their interactions of shapes and colors…
I instinctively spend time mixing these colors together with acrylic medium for a long time to see how they react to each other and which marriage I prefer from cold to warm tones depending on the passage I’m trying to express.
Only when fully satisfied of the created mixtures do I paint the first stroke and begin to fill the empty space. Sometimes full of energy with two or three paint brushed in one hand… changing the directions of my strokes while adding different colors…other times I slow down to a peaceful and gentle pace with more control but keeping my carefree spontaneity in such a way that the colors although mixed give each other proportionate values. But the fruit of my work is always an unconscious emotion of something I’ve seen, lived and felt in a recent period of time which influence me towards my choices of colors and the energy I put in that work.
As of late I find just as much inspiration in the pictures I take of landscapes of the places that marked my soul. But I leave my abstract energy bring in imagination and instinct to how I felt in those places, avoiding to let the picture take control.”
