Sean Carney

Sean Carney is fast becoming a musical fixture an important cog in the Columbus live music scene. On September 26th, Sean Carney brings his unique Columbus blues style to Notes, in an evening that lights up our new venue for for existing fans and an entirely new audience.

Opening act: Micah Kesselring from 8-9pm

It’s no accident that Sean Carney’s career has been trending steadily upward. This bluesman has it in his genes, with the Carney family name being synonymous with great Columbus music for decades. He's mastered his craft, backing a wide array of greats such as Christine Kittrell and Jimmy “T-99” Nelson - touring the world, and spreading the gospel of American music and the Blues to thousands across the globe each year. As the philanthropic soul behind the Blues for a Cure effort in central Ohio, he demonstrates the power of music as a healing force to benefit those close to home. Offstage he is a tireless advocate for the area’s musical heritage, writing articles, performing as a DJ, promoting concerts and serving three terms as President of the Columbus Blues Alliance.

There’s “happy” blues and there’s sad blues - you’ll be happy if you come see Sean and sad if you don’t!
